| Just got back from a trip which started in Iron Mountain and backpacked to Newberry. On the way there, took trail 2 east to trail 5 north to trail 32 to Gwinn. After stop for gas & grub, we headed east on 8 until we got to 43 south to Seney. Stop for gas and on to Newberry. Logged 230 miles that day. Day two was a sightseeing trip to the falls and lake Superior. Took trail 9 through Newberry, to trail 45, stopped at the falls & ate at the brewery. Continued into Paradise for gas then west & north on trail 8 to trail 9 and back to the hotel. Easy day of 145 miles. Day three was back to Iron Mountain. Took trail 45 toward Curtis, then south on 492 to trail 2 west. Stopped in Blaney Park for gas & hot chocolate. Stayed on trail 2 west through Manistique, and stoped to eat in Nahma Junction. Got gas in Rapid River, ran the bay down to Escanaba and picked up trail 2 west again. Logged 225 miles that day. Three day total of 602 miles. Trails were the best I've every seen. Well groomed, great scenery, very friendly people, sleds ran great. Would reccomend that area to anyone wanting smooth trails.
