My wife and I will be up mid-Feb and will be staying in Mackinaw City for 4 days. I hope to cross the bridge and ride to Whitefish Point. Is this a difficult trail to follow and is there places to stay along the way? We will be using the ice bridge to Mackinaw sometime that week too.

No, this is actually my son with his mother's helmet on which, he was not happy about since it is pink. But is has a heated shield and we needed that. This was a couple weeks ago in Mackinaw City. My wife and I are scheduled to go up mid-Feb.

I haven't crossed the ice bridge. But my Dad and I rode from St.Ignace, which is right there, to paradise. Went and saw the falls, and rode back in one day. We stopped for gas in trout lake both ways. Great ride.

Great, I would love to see the falls in the winter. As it stands right now the wife in no uncertain terms will be crossing on the ice bridge. I on the other hand, am ready to go for it.

The U.P. Trails are during the week as smooth as I-75.With the snow we've had this year thats a long 1 day ride so I suggest you get an early start{before noon}and pretty much guarantee you'll get back after dark.Goin to the Island{Sleds will run across water if you don't slow down or stop} I get the creeps runnin on lakes or rivers so I just wouldn't stop til I got over there.Heard its beautiful and worth the ride.Go to the fort on top...you can see almost forever!!

I understand that the Ice Bridge hasent been this smooth in 30 years. Nice little sprint across. Had a great time.
