I was wondering about crossing the ice bridge to the Island, where in St Ignace you would get on the lake.
thanks

I cross rivers, open water and most lakes. I have riden 20 miles on the Sturgeon. But with the currents in the straits it can make thin spots overnight. I just do not like that area. Was stuck out there years ago on a frieghter I worked on and two of the crew went through walking to the bar, or so they thought. Now the ice bridge from Drummond Isl. to Canada I feel much safer on!

I hear it is open and quite active this year. I have not been able to talk the wife into crossing with me as yet, but I will. If not, I'll go alone and if I go through, at least I'm at a place I want to be.
