Being an Indiana boy, the only miles I've logged on my sleds so far this season have been test runs on the trailer.

I want to add some more but there has not been a lot of snow around home and it's hard to get away.

There is 5 of us going to Indian River this weekend to the Brentwood Lodge and the trails there are groomed, good condition and bars are pretty cool in the area and plenty of gas and food.  Exit 301 on I75.........

Well I have logged in about 1,900 so far I had 3,600 start, now I have 5,500 on my RTX, still not going to catch my dad though, he has 2,700, adding that to his overall, he has topped 1 million. SERIOUS, I would'nt be surprized if he does'nt have close to it.:) Ask the guys at T&R yamaha in east jordan.

Almost 500 and LOVE being retired.Rode MLK weekend Sun.nite thru Tues. around Blue Bear area west of Grayling.Sunday Sucked,Monday still Sucked-Bumpy,Torn-up..then Tuesday they took out all the speed bumps just for us retired guys who ride during the week and it was Beautiful again-110 miles in 5 hours including gas and lunch stops.Keep up the good work groomer drivers-Saw one on sunday nite and about 10 sleds went by{Wkend Warriors with 3 inch studs and paddle tracks}and litterally TORE the trail to bump city. Why do they have to spin their tracks so hard and dig such massive holes with traction like that???Can't you guys save the Roostin for off the trails??Thumbs up for the groomers!!! I wouldn't ride without-em!!

Paddle tracks are'nt needed, but I feel studs are a definate safety factor, for sure. I agree about spinning the track, and as for groomers, everyone loves a fresh groomed trail, very nice, but!  I love the sport so much, I would never quit riding, I never quit before the groomers were here, and wont quit now. flylip, u prob. passed my dad somewhere in that area, he LIVES on the trails on the weekdays, as he's retired to, he has an apex, with a 10" t.v. (gps) on the dash, lol.

About 300 miles in and around Cheboygan, Indian River, Mackinac City Michigan

Another 200 around Miocqua, Manitowish Waters, Mercer, Presque Isle, Boulder Junction Wisconsin

And another 500 from Boulder Junction Wisconsin to Copper Harbor and back.

Total about 1000 with another trip scheduled.  Can't be precise as the sled is sitting there waiting for me in Wisconsin.

I added another 750 miles, trailered up to st ignace, headed the long way up to pike lake haven, about 7 miles south (as the crow flys) from raimbow lodge.  we went around bye rudyard, then went way up to silver creek to eat, then we went by camp 33 (teq Brewery) and over to the cabin at pike lake.   we stoked the fire, got water running.  went back to camp 33 for dinner, and the superbowl. rode all over east and west, came home a day early due to funerals back home.  2,650 miles total...:)

(sledding was the last thing on my mind). wasn't able to get time off from work til march. (just glad to have a job) we're wanting to try the UP the week of march 23rd.  wondering if there's usually snow left up there then. we're thinking paradise. any suggestions on where to stay?? it'll be our first time up there. any advice would be greatly appreciated:)

Last year was our first year sledding - we put on over 1500 and this year so far about 500.  We are hoping to at least match last year - we better get to it and hope that March is good to us!!  Love this site and love coming to Traverse City - much better than sitting home in Chicago on the weekends!!

I hate to talk smack, but the proper term is frankenSLED. Anyway, I roll on an 89 Formula plus with a 98 Formula Z rear suspension, powered by a 670 from a 93 mach1 put about 1500 miles on it and just changed plugs twice. Couldn't afford a rebuild so I grabbed an old piston from a friends 670 and threw that in. You don't even wanna know what the jug looked like. Anyway it runs better than my 99 F3 800. And it gets way more looks. Keep rockin the old sleds brother, pretty soon we'll be retro!

We put on 900+/-. We did have 8 great weekends up north with the kids. I must be getting old. As long as they want to ride I am happy. We don't pound out the miles with them. I am glad they like it. Good day & happy trails:dude:

Fortunately, I got to log in just over 2600 miles this season. :)
Most were trail miles and some were awesome off trail poking around miles.
Not bad considering I work every other weekend!

Right close to 500mi. AND,we finally got to Mackinaw Island crossin the ice bridge.Nice ride around the island and a completely different look at it,but sad to say we were dissapointed by the fact that they closed off the Whole top of the island to snomobiles-the Fort on top and Arch rock are a Loooong hike when your dressed in a snomobile outfit. And the Grand hotel REALLY looked deserted. We won't be back in the winter anymore,Sorry. Maybe we'll go check out Bois Blanc next time-I'll bet they don't Block snomobiles out of the nicest parts of they're Island. OK,Cross-Country Skiers need a place{let me wipe the tears out of my eyes}to go too. With a speed limit like they have on the island I just don't think they're in any real danger of gettin run off the road, and I don't think that it justifies closin off some of the best views on the island.Nuff said!!!

was able to put on around 1200. did make it up to the UP last weekend and it really wasn't too bad. had to trailer the sleds to the trailhead. trails had some dirt, snirt, ice, and some were really good. only saw 3 sleds on the trail on sunday. hiked back to the upper falls to take pictures only to discover my daughter had swiped the batteries out of my camera! boy was i mad! that was quite a workout walking back there and up and down the stairs with snowmobile gear on! can't wait to go up there next year when conditions are at their prime.     went to "race the face" at scuss mnt. yesterday. good time and the kids loved it. we were wishing we would've entered just to be able to ride our sleds! lol. so now it's time to clean the sleds up, enjoy summer, and wait for the itch to set in in october.(that's the longest wait, oct. til it snows!lol)        thanks fishweb for all the great info, this is an awesome website!   happy trails:)

Nope, nothing but the basic wear and tear, the record of an apex mileage (and still climbing) is 33,000 miles.

I put 7,000 miles on my truck last year. I put more miles on  sleds and ATVs than my truck every year. How many I do not exactly know. I ride to many different machines to keep an exact count. All I know is I ride to much.

I will have to get on here and do a little bragging.    I have been riding in Canada and the UP for 35 years and think nothing of putting on over 1,000 miles in a week.  Thats not too bad for a 79 year old.
