I have a pair of 04 Ski-Doo Legends. One is 600 HO SDI the other a 700. I have used AMSoil full synthetic mostly. I recently found a full synthetic at half the cost.
I have conflicting information. Some tell me no big deal as long as I always use full synthetic. Others ell me never to do this or I will have big problems.
Which is true? If I have problems, what will they be?

We do not recommend mixing oils produced by different manufacturers, because of possible coagulation of chemicals in your lines. If you want to change oil brands we recommend running your oil tank down to as low as possible and then filling the tank with a different brand of oil.
If you are using BRP Ski-Doo oil, you can mix between any of the oils in their family (synthetic, synthetic blend, or mineral oil) without any fear of coagulation (clogging) in the lines. However, make sure you first consult your owner's manual as to the specific oil required for your unit (no offense if you already know this). For example, some sleds MUST run nothing but full synthetic, while other Ski-Doo models can use the synthetic blend or regular mineral oil. Obviously, running synthetic if you can afford it is always best no matter what your engine because of the cleaner-burning nature and upgraded processing of pure synthetic.

| Well, I would save $20 a gallon actually, and thats a lot in my budget! But I do agree that sleds are not cheap and I certainly do not want to do something to damage them prematurely! Both of your responses are helpful. Thank you for taking the time to reply!
