It seems there are endless great courses in Michigan. I am especially partial to the northern courses. I have found the Loon to be a great course for $. I also love Elk Ridge.

I have been fortunate enough to Golf all over the Northern Lower and U.P with fishweb. My home course is Indian River, great course! Mullet Lake country club is a real nice little course for the money. Hessel Ridge in the U.P. is a must play during the fall color change. The place is beautiful. It was a pleasant surprise from what i expected in the little town of Hessel. The Black Bear in Vanderbuilt is a really nice course and very affordable. lots of blind T shots and a few blind shots into the greens. Definately got to hit the ball straight. I also played the Hawks eye. played it right after it opened. Pricy place to play, I believe that there is four or five course to play there. The state is not lacking in affordable golf courses. Stoney links in Onaway,$25 for 18 with a cart, that is pretty hard to beat. Thunder Bay golf resort in Hillman is only like $35 for 18 w/cart. I do not think that i have played the loon. The last month we have been playing a different course once a week.Weather permitting, we will be playing one of the fine courses in the Gaylord area. Grip it & Rip it! The picture is of me playing on Hessel.

Hello, Just found this golf form. I couldn't agree more with you. Some of the courses around the upper lower are great. There is a group of 12 of us that travel up once a year for the golf, golf and golf weekend. The Loon is atop most of our lists. We played the Tribute a few years ago. That is just jaw dropping hole after hole. Good day
