when the machine warms up I rev up the engine, the temp light blinks on and off intermittenlty.
Does anyone know if Polaris had an issue with the temp light on this year and model sled?

| do you have a service manual with your sled? If so check and see under trouble shooting. It my be a sensor or your sled may have a detonation sensor "knock sensor" That is if the light is in the gauge if it is a stand alone light shart checking your grounds to the machine. That sensor should read on resistance. so if it is getting a frequency through the electrical system do to a bad ground the first thing that will have a problem is a sensor because they are so sensitive. Oh yeah make SURE you have the right kind of sparkplugs in the machine RN57YCC IS THE CHAMPION PLUG try that

Get a 5/16 socket or nut diver, not a screwdriver. On the top of the gooseneck on the engine there is a bleed nut. crack this open s-l-o-w-l-y and watch for escaping air bubbles. Leaver open until it's all liquid anti-freeze escaping.
There is a knock sensor there that is meant to retard your timing in the event of overheating. Trapped air sometimes gives a false read to the sensor.
I've even had to drive up the side of a snowbank to get the air to come to the top.
Good luck.

| thats a good tip about getting the front of the sled up in the air. I have 2005 500xcsp red and white boysen reeds mbrp exhaust and some clutch work. runs great had a proplem with my 03 500xcsp with the temp light flashing was the knock sensor. it was tie into that circut, quick question for you, I have position sencing rear fox shock sometimes after the sled sits for awhile you push the rear suspenion down and it just falls to the ground. move it up and down for a while and it feels alright again any answers to that thanks

i asked my mechanic about this issue and he replied with something similar-he said to position it on a hill facing up and rev it a few times and if there were any air bubbles trapped they would be forced out. but te bleeding out the air i'm not sure how to do. where is this 5/16 nut exactly? can yo be more specific?
appreciative newbie

| your reply is most similar to what i am experiencing. i've never had the suspension drop down but i did notice as i was trying get it back on the trailer, that it all of a sudden ran rough and felt as though it was running on one cylender. i shut it off and waited 5 mins and started it up and away we went on the trailer.

Open the hood. look on the top of the head cover (The one that says 500 Polaris)
You'll see a coolant hose attached to a gooseneck, that houses the thermostat, like on a car) On top of it is the air bleed screw. DON"T use a flat blade screwdriver. They put loctite on the threads and you'll strip it.
Use the socket or nut driver and S-l-o-w-l-y open it about 3/4 to 1 full turn. you'll have a few air bubbles escape and then pure anti freeze.
Not hard at all.

| tried your bleeding technique and no air came out just antifreeze. But I did pull it up on a steep hill for a minute and reved it up a bit. The fluid was low but the bottle wasn't completely empty. rode it around the back couple of acres for about 15 minute and the temp light never blinked. so I hope I'm good to go in da up eh?

I have a temp light issue on my 02' xc600, My temp light comes on after I start my sled up and will stay on for several feet once I drive away. But this never happens when the engine is cold to start. how do I fix this annoying problem.
