I am having problems cornering; I think that it may be because there isn't enough ski pressure. I have read in several magazines that I might be able to increase ski pressure by adjusting the front limiter strap. Is this what I want to do, is it going to help?

Yeah, besides the troubles of turning, I get pulled all around if the trails are choppy, even with both new 6" and 8" carbides. I think the previous owner's son had it set up for wheelies which is why I think its the strap.

THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION--THIS IS OUR RECOMMENDATION:

ADJUSTING THE FRONT ARM LIMITER STRAP UP, (TIGHTER), WILL LESSEN WEIGHT TRANSFER REARWARD, ALLOWING MORE WEIGHT TO REMAIN ON THE FRONT OF THE SLED--THIS WILL IMPROVE STEERING. REFERENCING YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL WILL GIVE YOU HINTS ON HOW MUCH YOU SHOULD TIGHTEN IT, AND HOW TO DO IT, BUT THERE ARE USUALLY TWO DIFFERENT DESIGNS.

ON SOME SLEDS YOU HAVE TO COMPRESS THE FRONT OF THE REAR SUSPENSION, (YOU CAN DO THIS BY PLACING A BLOCK UNDER THE TRACK AT THE FRONT OF THE REAR SUSPENSION AND HAVING A FRIEND PUSH DOWN GENTLY ON THE REAR BUMPER), IN ORDER TO ALLOW SOME SLACK IN THE STRAP. YOU CAN THEN REACH UNDER THE SUSPENSION AND REMOVE THE BOLT(S) FROM THE LIMITER STRAP(S) AND PULL THE END OF THE STRAP DOWNWARD, TIGHTENING THE STRAP TO THE NEXT HOLE, AND REINSTALLING THE BOLTS.

SOME MODELS SIMPLY HAVE A KNOB THAT YOU CAN TIGHTEN, WHICH PULLS THE STRAP DOWN TIGHTER PRODUCING THE SAME EFFECT.

I SUGGEST ONLY GOING ONE HOLE AT A TIME, OR ONLY TURNING THE KNOB ABOUT THREE COMPLETE ROTATIONS AND THEN TEST RIDE THE SLED. IT'S BEST TO DO THIS ALONG THE SAME SECTION OF TRAIL SO YOU CAN GET AN IDEA OF HOW MUCH YOU HAVE CHANGED THE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUR SLED.

KEEP IN MIND HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS WILL CHANGE ACCORDING TO SNOW CONDITIONS. EX., HARD-PACKED SNOW BASE EARLIER IN THE RIDING SEASON VS. AN ICE BASE LATER IN THE SEASON.  GOOD LUCK AND GOOD RIDING!

Nice picture!!  I was up along H-58 (trail89) last week,  they have a heck of a project going on thats gonna affect the ride from Grand Marais to Melstrand.  They are rebuilding H-58,  looks like there  gonna pave it from Melstrand to Grand Sable dunes.  Its a real mess right now.  Rider beware the gas station in Shingleton is out of business.  Looks like for good this time...
