The DNR trail map for this trail shows a section closed SW of point 12, the fishweb map does not! It looked like a road was next to the trail and it would act as a detour
but it turned out that the road is the trail at this point. Beaver dammed the culverts
and the result was a washed out road at 2 points. Beware of quicksand/silt. There should be a detour sign but it does say trail closed about 5 miles NE. Trail is badly
wooped and woops were full of water last Tues. DNR site shows this closed in May 09, I wonder if/when it will be fixed. This is on Camp Grayling, maybe they will help fix it. Also watch it at point 9 where a sign says gas to SE (AND WRONG WAY) it dead ends at Manistee camp ground sign on road with no further directions. This area is being logged and should be avoided for now. Who is responsible for trail maintenance on this trail? Please Tread Lightly!
