I have a 1997 Jag 440 the starter bendix stays engaged with the flywheel after the engine starts. The starter bendix is now broken, before I repair the starter I would like to correct the problem. Someone has told me to take apart the stater solenoid and lenghten the spring? Can anyone tell me the proper way to fix this problem.
