| I have a 2006 crossfire 600 that the speedometer does not work 90% of the time. Is there a way to test the speed sensor? Any other diagnostics I can perform to see why it does not work. My RPM works on both needle and digital. Is it easy to replace the speed sensor? How does the speed sensor work? It looks like it is held into the act drive with a plastic screw. Any help would be appreciated.

| Only thing I can say is, I had that problem and my bearing was going out in the drive axle, dont know about cats, but yamaha you take the speedo cover off, you have to take off the secondary clutch to get to it, and look at bearing, thats all i can think of.

My 2007 Panther 660 speedometer broke two weeks ago. It was under warranty so it is fixed but not sure what went wrong with it or how it was repaired.

| Talked to a tech at Arctic Cat dealership in Fon du lac and he said most often it is the speed sensor. Have not tried fixing yet, waiting for spring.

Try pulling apart the connections to the gauge and at the speed sensor. Make sure that the pins are not bent or corroded. If they are not, put some di-electrical grease on the connections and make sure they are fastened tightly. If that doesn't do anything I would say that you have a bad speed sensor.

| Thanks for the input. took it to the dealer before the warranty ran out and it was just the speed sensor. Took them all of 10 minutes to do.
