Hi, I will be taking a trip to Douglas lake as of tomorrow, and I was trying to find out what fish occured in that lake, and what tackle to use as well as what method to use to catch the fish. I heard there were northern pike, so possible use some large mepps spinners for them??
What about fishing on the banks...will I catch anything....or should I fish from a boat? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I hope late is better than never. Maybe it will help you with your next trip. Did you have any luck? I have only fished Douglas Lake twice. Both times from a Boat. I caught several respectable pike and a few nice bass. I primarily worked the shore line and any structure that I could see. I am a huge fan of TITANIUM TERMINATORS. If I am fishing a new place, they cover a lot of ground and different depths as well. My fishing partner caught a few pike on a perch pattern f11 Rapala. He also caught a few nice bass working the shoreline with a green Banjo frog. I have been told that it is also a good panfish lake. Sorry I did not reply sooner, I am fortunate enough to live on the Pigeon River and the last month, I have been chasing big browns with my fly rod.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up catching a four pike while we were there, only one was the legal limit , the others were a few inches short. I did catch a nice rock bass using a green/silver little cleo. I landed the pike off #3,4,5 mepps, green/silver little cleo, and a blue fox #3 vibrax. Some of the locals used night crawlers and other worms (artifical) to land some nice looking small mouth, but didn't fish much for the small mouth. A great lake though, not too big, and not many boaters out at all.
