Hi, my 05 GSX 500 SS won't put out charging voltage.
The battery totally discharged on a ride. After charging with a charger; at the battery there is 13 volts at idle and when I rev the engine a little, it drops off to 7, 8, or so. Is this something I can fix myself? I hate to put the sled in the shop in the heart of the season as the shop is miles away.
Bought 2 of these in black from Burt lake Marina for wife and I. Awesome smooth rides and plenty of power and great deals.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the sled, but glad to know you are happy with your Ski-Doos and us as your dealership--thank you.
Unfortunately, it is probably something that should come in to our service department. The possibilities are:
1.) Defective voltage regulator
2.) A short in the wiring system
3.) A problem in the magneto
You can try swapping the voltage regulator from one machine to the other to see if that cures the problem. Otherwise it is step by step diagnosis and testing of each component until the problem is identified.
Hope this helps. If you need to contact us, just call 231-238-8265 or send an email to service@burtlakemarina.com. Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Will probably pull start for the rest of the season, if there is one. Hope to see some more snow, as we come from Ohio.
If it works out, we will drop it off later.
Thanks, again.
