It has been almost 10 years since we owned sleds, we just bought a 94 Polaris Indy 440 and a 97 ski-doo Puma 340. Please advise which type of oil i should be using for these i am planning on running what is in it out and starting with what is best recommended.. Also any other tips or pointers on these sleds would be appreciated.

| Congratulations on your "new" sleds--you picked a great winter to get back into snowmobiling. As far as oil goes, neither of these sleds have rave valves, so any 2-stroke mineral oil will work. If you're mechanically-inclined and want to maintain the sleds yourself you could order owners' manuals for each. Otherwise, you should have the sleds "prepped" at a service facility to ensure the carbs and lines are clean, etc.--especially if you don't know the service history of the machines. Dirty, clogged carburetors can cause major engine failure and that's a lot more expensive then a basic prep. Good luck to you.
