| I own a 06 skidoo gsx 500 ss best sled ive ever owned. Just wondering since they have been out for awhile what the fuel mileage is? Also what can i expect how many miles can be put on this sled before it needs major repair? I have own several sleds but all polaris and the most i ever put on one of them before trading it in was 4500 miles. Thanks!

Thanks for your question. The Ski-Doo GSX 500 SS sleds are averaging anywhere from 14 to 18 mpg. The variation will depend on the riding conditions and the rider.
As for your how long you can expect to ride your sled before it needs major repair--that's a difficult question. There are too many factors that will influence the life of your motor and sled overall, such as: how it's maintained (regular service schedule maintained, using OEM oil, fluids & parts), how it's stored (temperature, environment), how it's ridden (hard rides, deep snow, short rides, high mph, low mph, groomed trails, bush-whacking)? We've seen these sleds last up to 10,000 miles but we've also seen failures at 5,000. Good luck and happy trails!

| i have a MXZ 500 and my wife has a grand touring le 500 , should we get around the same miles out of a tank if were just trail riding? an how many miles should we get out of a full tank? she'll probably get a lil better then me with her sled being a trail sled.
