Anyone know of good ATV trails within about an hour or less of Manistique? I'm looking more for actual offroad trails, than 2 track or the old rail route riding.

Thanks.

There are a lot of trails and routes between Manistique and Munising. Atv routes, snowmobile trails and forest roads. You can pick up a map there. I liked that area and have mapped in the north-central area here : http://www.fishweb.com/recreation/orv/maps/alger_co/index.html Lakeshore. I road hundreds of miles there in 06. Make sure you play at the Thunder Bowl!

We actually stay just down the road from thunder bowl, so we've been there a few times.

We went up to Danaher Plains last year and are looking for that kind of atv trail riding for the sport quads.

We road some of the forest roads and snowmobile trails that are open for the atvs. Those were fine for tooling around on the uts, but were kinda boring on the sports.

Thanks for the links.

It seems I can't edit my own posts so I'll add on.

After looking at your 06 trip, it was the Haywire grade that we rode up to Shingleton and into Manistique.

We disabled the editing of post because people might come back and change things that were not approved.     If everyone could go back and edit a post we could end up with allot of junk we did not approve.
