Going up to Gladwin this Sat. Never rode those trails but looking foreward to it.
I'll have a few pictures to post as soon as I get back

Well, rode the Gladwin area trails for the first time.
All in all, trails system wasn't to bad.
Staging area was easy in and out. Trails were very well marked. Only came across two wet areas that were not that bad (but we haven't been getting rain) so the trails were a little dusty (no big deal).
Crossed over about 4 bridges that were well maintained.
LOTS OF WOOOOOPS!!!
Came across a lot of dirt bike riders screaming around corners and almost loosing it when they see you coming the other way. Upper half of the trail was through more wooded area and the lower half was through more open area.
For an hour and a half drive north to the trails from Auburn Hills were well worth it.

| How many miles of trails would you say that Gladwin has? Is there any fuel available close to the trails? Thanks

Close to 30 miles of trails. There is a scramble area on the south end of the trail which is the largest loop. The north end is a little smaller loop as most of the north end loop is closed off for repairs.
The north end has about 4 bridges and open to wooded areas. The south end is mostly open.
There is a gas station a few miles east of the staging area on the main road by I-75.

Hi, I went two weeks ago on a Saturday. If you get their early it's ok. But it fills up fast later in the day. When we left at 4:00 Sat. the parking lot was full. Be carefull because some of those people on motorcycles don't care.

Yes there is. You have St. Helen's area and Rose city that is just north of the Gladwin turn off on I-75.
For trail maps and areas to ride, check out fish webs ATV section here..... http://www.fishweb.com/recreation/orv/maps/index.html
I have been useing fish webs ATV and sled sections for a # of years. Very good info.

| Spent the day(May10) at the Gladwin trails. The trails were great and thanks to Duane for the heads up on this great location. My daughter and I had an awesome time on all the trails that we could find. There are so many trails that you can go on for quite a long time. With no rain the trails were a little dusty but not to the point that you couldnt see. This location was well worth the trip and not to many people either.

Hi Mike, Welcome to the site.
The trail head is off M61 a few miles west of I75.
The entrance is on the south side of M61. It's well marked.
Have fun.
