I took a trip back home last year to the Keweenaw area and brought up an old 86 moto 4.

Rode the trail north out of South Range to the big lake edge. Trail was great, smooth and nobody on it but me. Sat by the lake for about an hour. Was sooo peacefull.

Then rode a few back roads and woods area south of South Range that I've been doing for years.

Felt great to be up there riding again.

They have opened up a new trail connecting trail 2 Marenisco around Lake Gogebic to the Bill Nicholls trail. I'm headed up end of may to check it out and map the trails. Below is a photo with my Outlander after a bit of mud on the trail in northwest Marquette Co.

There ya go :D

Thanks for all the work your doing with the mapping and stories of rides.

They have helped me out numerous times.

I hope to get back up there next month.

Isn't it illegal to ride on the shorelines or in lakes?

I don't know about in the water, but I don't think it's against the law on the shore in most areas.

Where did you hear or read that?

It is unlawful to operate any ORV in or on the waters of

any stream, river, marsh, bog, wetland, or quagmire

This is out of the book. Doesn't say lake though.

But you bring up a good point. I will check up on this

I'm not trying to be a harda$$ and come down on anyone,I like to have a good time too,but right now with all the hype about ATV's and enviromental damage and erosion caused by ATV's,I think we all need to be careful and responsible and set a good example by following the rules.

I hear ya. I didn't know that law. And you are right. It is against the law.

I e-mailed a law person up in the UP and yes. It's a no no.

I suggest the admin. remove the picture please.

And thanks yooperforeman for the insite about that law.
