Our forum DOES NOT have an indicator how much time its going to take to upload a picture.    My advice is that you resize all your pictures before you upload.   If you have a dialup connection it could take a really long time if you don't resize.
Cameras these days take really large pictures and allot of times they are not formatted to be uploaded easily on the internet to sites like ours.

I recommend pictures be 800x600 or smaller and also less then 100Kb in size..  Saving your images in .jpg format is the best for our forum and most any webpage.
Our system will take larger pictures and resize them but if your having troubles uploading I suggest you first resize your pictures before you upload to our forum.

I hope that helps.  If you need any additional information about resizing a picture you can write me here.

If you don’t have anything on your computer to resize a picture I recommend that you use the free graphics editor that works in All versions of windows.

Go here to download Paint.net.  Paint.net is a picture editing software.  You don’t need to register and it’s free.

(watch out for the ads around the download areas.  Make sure your downloading paint.net and not something else)

Once you download and install all you have to do is this:

  1. Open your picture
  2. Select the "image" menu click on Resize
  3. A window will pop up. In the window make sure "Maintain Aspect Ratio" is selected then type either in the width or height 800 or smaller and resolution should be 72 then hit ok.  You will see the picture much smaller then it was and much easier to handle for uploads to servers like our forum.
  4. You will want to next choose the "Save As" option under the "File" menu.    I would suggest you use .jpg and save it to a place locally on your computer that you can find so you can upload it to the forum.

Later I will post a video demo of how this can be done.
