If there is enough coverage on the roads, you can connect to Grayling from Roscommon on the Skyline trail. Other than that, go thru Lovells or St Helen, South around Houghton Lake.
Grayling will send you a map http://grayling-mi.com/
I've not had much luck locating a personal map for the St Helen's area, but there are numerous maps posted along those trails.

Not much snow in the Glennie area right now-it is ridable, but it'll get better the further you go North & West.It should be about a 6 hr. ride depending on stops and rider ability and trail conditions. You could do it in 3 if ya cranked it up .Not me!!I'd call it a nice day ride.

Me and a couple friends rode from Barton City on 1-1-10 to Glennie and the Oasis. From the oasis we ran to McKinley. The trail had a very hard ice base with a couple inches of snow packed on it by the groomer. The forest roads and the power lines were in great shape. Since the first, we have gotten about 3 inches of new snow and the Alcona County groomers have been out. You can expect some icy corners but as you get more west and north of Glennie the conditions improve quickly. I live in Alcona County and see the trails here everyday. Carl Boyd at the Family Circle just north of Glennie on M-65 runs the groomer based in Glennie and he does the trail report on this site for the Glennie area. His reports can be trusted, although he hasn't updated since 12-29.

| I of Barton City or Glennie area yet this year. Their snow has been on the light side. If you guys are willing to trailer to any of the Alpena trail heads you can normally count on some better conditions. The rail grade to millersburg and then on to Black Mt is a great ride and the snow conditions are better their. At the same time if you drive further uP M-65 and head west on M-72 their is a new trail head at that intersection or drive further to Red Oak the conditions their are better as well. I have been in that area already this year and it was very good. Have fun.

| Well Pauly, how was the trip up to Glennie? I was in the UP for four days and didn't get to ride locally and see what our trails were like.

| I WAS VERY SURPRISED ON HOW LITTLE SNOW THERE WAS BUT HOW GOOD THE TRAILS WERE !!! NOTHING WILL COMPARE TO RIDING ON THE WEST SIDE WERE YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE FROM ONE POINT , BUT NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS HAPPY , WE DID NOT RIDE MUCH , ABOUT 245 MILES BUT AT LEAST WE RODE . THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS , RAN INTO 3 C.O'S AND 2 SHERIFF .

| I was up over the weekend. Saturday I rode out of Posen. Headed to Cheyboygen on the rail grade then back down thru Black Mountain to Millersburg and back to Posen. The ride was great. Trails were smooth as I have ever seen, almost no other sleds and conditions were great. Sunday we tried to ride out of Barton City. We intended in going to what we call the "flats". Basically the Kirkland Warbler area we hit the fire trails and play around. It was terrible. The trail to get their was more dirt than snirt and once we got their it was froze from the Christmas rain with nothing on top for cooling. Turned around and headed home. Hope the group in Glennie found some good riding it would be bummer to get their and no good snow.

| Trails in my area are still good, and hanging on, lots of traffic. Just got my sled running, broke my muffler in half had it welded, just had to wait on the gaskets to put it back together, finally going boondocking tomorrow to stay away from the crowded trails.
