I don't think you can make it from Marquette to Houghton in 4 hours.

Last year we did Marquette to Big Bay to L'Anse to Calumet and it took us about 12 hours.  That was moving as quick as we could.

I would suggest if you are in a hurry don't go from Marquette to Big Bay.  Very winding and slow trail.  Took us about 3-4 hrs to make it from Marquette to Big Bay on the coldest day of the year!

If your in a hurry take trail 8 out of Marquette to trail 15 to trail 109 through the Sturgeon Valley to trail 3 to Houghton.  It will probably be your fastest route.

Trail 8 is pretty straight, trail 109 has some great views and trail 3 is a straight shot into Houghton.

Maybe you can do it in 4 hours but I would plan for a bit more time.

My 2 cents!

Good luck

Trout Lake would be a good midway spot.

My husband and I spent 4 days snowmobiling around Hancock last week - extremely beautiful and amazing trails. We met a group that had rode from Munising to Hancock and said it took them 7 hours. The trails are just unbelievable. Trail 109 is a slower trail because it is curvy as you head north on it to trail 3 to Twin Lakes. This was a young fast group, but the way the trails are, I would ride from Marquette to Hancock in a heartbeat.

Happy Trails

We rode from Michigamme to Copper Harbor 2 years ago in one day, 8 hours. Your trip would be a bit shorter, about 150 miles. Depends on your speed.
